What is the Startup Special & How Does it Work?
The Startup Special is a phased BigCommerce launch package designed for early-stage merchants who want professional setup without committing to a large, open-ended project.
The work is broken into three clearly defined phases. Each phase focuses on a specific part of your store and is paid before work begins. Once a phase is complete, you decide when (or if) you’re ready to move on to the next one.
There’s no long-term contract and no pressure to continue before your business is ready.
The Three Phases
Phase 1: Theme Setup
$595
This phase focuses on getting the foundation of your store in place so you have something real to work from.
- Theme selection from a curated set of proven BigCommerce themes
- Theme installation and basic configuration
- Brand styling (colors, fonts, logo integration)
- Homepage framework using standard theme components:
- Hero or carousel
- Featured categories or brands
- Featured or new products
- Short brand introduction blurb
- One round of feedback focused on accuracy and basic preferences
Phase 2: Products + Catalog
$695
Once your theme and homepage framework are in place, this phase focuses on your products and how customers browse your store.
- Import up to 50 simple products (no variants or options)
- Set up categories and/or brands based on your structure
- Category and product page layout adjustments using the existing theme templates
If you’re using a dropshipping app or automated product import, Phase 2 may be adjusted based on your setup.
Phase 3: Content, Settings & Launch
$595
This final phase prepares your store for launch and ensures you know how to manage it going forward.
- Add standard content pages (About, Shipping & Returns, Contact, Privacy)
- Configure core store settings:
- Payments, shipping, and tax (basic setup)
- Google Analytics (GA4)
- Email marketing provider connection
- Final review and testing
- Store launch and submission to Google
- One-hour walkthrough and training session

Theme Selection
For the Startup Special, I use a small set of proven BigCommerce themes that allow for a fast, reliable launch without unnecessary complexity. I’ve chosen these themes because they offer a variety of layouts and design styles.
I’ll recommend the most appropriate theme based on your catalog size, navigation needs, and how you expect your store to grow.
A note about theme demos:
Demo sites are designed to show everything a theme can do. For this package, we use streamlined layouts focused on clarity and ease of maintenance. Your site won’t replicate the full demo layout at launch, and that’s intentional. Additional sections can always be added later if needed.
